Privacy Policy

Barq ("we") is operated by Gypsy Trading for Export (جيبسي للتجارة والتصدير ومنتجات الملابس), Egypt. This policy explains what data Barq processes when a shop uses Barq and when a customer talks to a shop through Barq.

Data we process

• Shop account data: when a shop connects its Instagram or Facebook account, we receive the account ID, username, profile name and picture, and an access token issued by Meta.
• Shop content: the shop's posts, photos, videos and captions, used only to build that shop's product catalogue.
• Messages: messages and comments that customers send to the connected shop account, and the replies sent by Barq or the shop. This includes text, images and voice notes the customer chooses to send.
• Order details: when a customer places an order: name, phone number(s), governorate, address and the items ordered.
• Basic usage data: page visits on shop websites (time, page, approximate country) to show the shop how its site performs.

How we use it

• To show the shop's products on its Barq website.
• To answer customers' questions on behalf of the shop and to record their orders.
• To send the order and conversation to the shop owner, who fulfils the order.
• To keep the service working and secure, and to measure our costs.

We use an AI model provider (Anthropic) and cloud infrastructure (Cloudflare) to process messages and host the service. They process data only to provide the service to us and do not use it to train their models. We do not sell personal data and do not use it for advertising.

Sharing

Customer messages and orders are shared only with the shop the customer contacted. We do not share data with any other party except the service providers above, or when required by law.

Retention

Conversations and orders are kept while the shop uses Barq so the shop can follow up. When a shop disconnects, its access token is deleted immediately, and its data is deleted within 30 days of a request.

Your choices

You can ask us to access or delete your data at any time — see Data Deletion. A shop can disconnect Barq from its Instagram or Facebook account at any time from the account's settings.
